Order to remove Ann ELMES from Puddletown to Tyneham 14 April 1753
Whereas complaint hath been made unto us whose names are hereunto subscribed To of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace of the said County of Dorset Whereof one is of the Quorum by the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Puddle Town in the said County Fiat
Ann Elmes is
Lately come into the said parish of Puddle Town endeavouring to settle herself there contrary to Law. And is shortly to become chargeable there. And upon Examination of the premises on Oath we do find and adjudge the said Anne Elmes likely to become chargeable to the said parish of Puddle Town and that the place of her last legal settlement is in the parish of Tyneham in the Said County of Dorset.
These are therefore in this Majesty’s name to authorize And require you forth with to Remove the said Anne Elmes out of the parish of Puddle Town into the said parish of Tyeneham and her deliver to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Tyenham or to some or one of them Together with this our Order or a true Copy thereof who are hereby required to receive and provide For her ῀ According to the Law And hereof fayle not at Your Perrills
Given Under our Hands and Seals the fourteenth day of April 1753 [signed]
To the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Puddle Town to Remove, and to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the Sd [said] parish of Tyneham to receive and provide for the Said Ann Elmes
